John Heinz III School of Public Policy + Management at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art with a concentration in Electronic and Time-Based media from Carnegie Mellon.
Nick's current research is on the impact of recommender systems on the behavior of consumers of cultural commodities and product-driven industries – specifically the development of connoisseur behavior and specialized tastes because of the increased accessibility of niche products. Further, he is interested in the use of social media and participatory online interfaces to stimulate discourse, reach new audiences, and extend arts organizations' presence into larger social forums.
Previously, Nick has been an outreach coordinator at Art21, an assoicate director at Future Tenant, and co-director of the FRAME Gallery.
